Boshan is the Co-Founder of CICRA Group of Companies. A strong activist in cyber security, he has represented CICRA at the annual ‘Cyber Endeavor’ and ‘Senior Communicators Forum’ of the Multinational Communications Interoperability Program of the US Pacific Command during the past five consecutive years. Having served in top corporates such as MAS Holdings, The Finance & Guarantee Company and Singapore Informatics, he has a wealth of business and management experience for over 22 years. He has a Bachelor of Commerce and an MBA from the University of Colombo. He was Sri Lanka’s top tennis player during 1995-1996.

Vasana Wickremasena

Vasana Wickremasena

Vasana is a journalist, lawyer, civil society activist and an academic. He is the Group Executive Director of CICRA Holdings and had been instrumental in development of the Executive Masters’ Degree in Mass Communication. He has a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Colombo (2001) and MA in Journalism from the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines (2005). He has studied Media Law and Advocacy at the University of Oxford (2006) and Communication and Governance Reform at the World Bank Institute and the University of Annenberg (2011) in Washington DC. He passed out as an Attorney-at-Law with Honours from Sri Lanka Law College (2000). During a fundamental rights violation petitions that he appeared for, the Supreme Court recognized the Right to Education as a fundamental right of Sri Lanka. Vasana has served as a member of the bi-annual Asian Forum on Journalism initiated by the Asian Center for Journalism, Philippines. He also served as the Vice President of Society of Asian Journalists. A promoter of media self-regulation, Vasana served as the first Complaints Officer of the Press Complaints Commission of Sri Lanka (2003-2005) and served as the Secretary to the Code of Ethics Review Committee (2005). He also served as the Program Manager of the Advanced Certificate Program in Journalism at the Open University of Sri Lanka. He was a Hary Brittain Fellow of the Commonwealth Press Union (2003) and Konrad Adenauer Fellow (2004-2005).

Dr. Ruvan Abeysekara is an experienced IT professional with comprehensive expertise in HR management, project management, lecturing, consultation and management skills in both Face-to-Face (F2F) and Distance environments, IT policy and curriculum development, Distance/ Multimedia learning content development, business information processing, enterprise application integration (EAI), systems integration, requirements analysis, workflow design, project management, leadership, process modelling, testing/ quality assurance, software development, customer service and vendor relationships etc. Currently he is serving in different capacities for many reputed higher education organizations in the state sector and private sector of the country. Ruvan obtained his PhD in Computer Science and Technology from Dalian Maritime University, China and holds a MSc in Computer Science from the University of Colombo School of Computing. In addition to his academic qualifications, Ruvan holds number of industry and professional certifications. He holds the membership of number of organizations such as The Institute of Doctors Engineers and Scientists, Institution of Engineering and Technology, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, British Computer Society, Chartered Institute for IT, Computer Society of Sri Lanka, Australian Computer Society etc. Also, Ruvan is a Microsoft Certified Peer Coacher and Cisco Certified Instructor. Dr. Manjula Sandirigama

Dr. Manjula Sandirigama

Dr. Manjula Sandirigama is a Senior Lecturer at Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering of University of Peradeniya. He is also an Attorney-at-Law (Sri Lanka) with an expertise in IPR (Intellectual Property Rights). He is involved in IPR awareness and policy drafting programs and consultancies for students, academic and industry sector., and he is a rare resource on IPR in Sri Lanka. Dr. Sandirigama obtained his PhD in Computer Science from University of Ehime, Japan in 2001 after obtaining MSc in Computer Science from the same university in 1998. He obtained his BSc in Electrical Engineering from University of Peradeniya in 1991. From 1991 to 1996, he was working as an engineer in the national telecommunication provider Sri Lanka Telecom. Secure Communication Protocols is the primary expertise of Dr. Sandirigama and he shows keen interest in Cryptography and legal aspects of technology due to his rare blend of expertise in technology and law. Dr. Sandirigama has authored the book ‘Intellectual Property for Scientists and Technologists’ In addition to his regular contributions in research and development aspects of the computer science and engineering.

With over 19 years of experience in higher education, Tharaka is a seasoned academic and accomplished educator. His extensive collaboration with both local and international universities has provided him with deep insights into the opportunities and challenges of a diverse and multicultural academic landscape.

An expert in academic quality assurance and program management, he is dedicated to ensuring that students receive a top-tier education. As a Senior Lecturer in undergraduate and postgraduate programs, he brings a wealth of knowledge and practical expertise to the classroom. His contributions to curriculum development for state and international universities reflect his passion for designing relevant and impactful academic programs that meet the needs of students and the broader community.

He holds professional membership with the Chartered Institute for IT (UK) and has earned an MSc in IT from the University of Colombo School of Computing, along with an MBA from Cardiff Metropolitan University (UK). Currently, he is pursuing an M.Ed. at Lincoln University Malaysia and a Ph.D. in Management at the University of Colombo, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to lifelong learning and academic excellence.

Ms. Dilshani Welarathna is the Academic Program Coordinator for the Executive Master of Science in Information Security (EMSc IS) and the Executive Master of Science in Mass Communication (EMSc MC) Programs.  She has over 12 years of extensive experience in collaboration with international educational institutions and professional education bodies. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management (IMSL) and has successfully completed a Diploma in Business Management with NIBM. She is a dynamic and multi-talented individual at CICRA Campus.

With over 20 years of extensive experience in educational program management, Ms. Thushari Diyawadanage specializes in coordinating Certificate and Professional Courses (CEH, CND, CHFI, CNSA, CCSP) along with overseeing the BSc in Cyber Security and MSc in Cyber Security programs. Her vast expertise in collaboration with international educational institutions and professional education bodies has contributed significantly to the development and growth of these programs.


 

Hiruni Rathnayake

Hiruni Rathnayake

Hiruni Rathnayake is an academic and research professional specializing in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Information Technology education. She holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science from the University of Kelaniya and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Information Technology from the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT).

With experience as a Lecturer at CICRA Campus, a Temporary Demonstrator at the University of Kelaniya, and an Academic Instructor at SLIIT, she has developed strong expertise in teaching, student mentoring, curriculum delivery, and academic assessment. Her technical competencies include Python, Java, C#, C++, web development, database management, software engineering, and software quality assurance.

Her primary research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis, Adaptive Learning Systems, and Educational Technologies.Her MSc research, titled "Integrating Deep Learning-Based Early Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder with Novel Adaptive Learning Strategies,” focuses on leveraging AI technologies to support early ASD detection and personalized learning interventions.

Research Publications

* Sinhala Writing Inspector– A research project focused on developing an intelligent system for Sinhala language writing analysis and error detection.
* Integrating Deep Learning-Based Early Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder with Novel Adaptive Learning Strategies– Research exploring the integration of deep learning techniques for ASD prediction with adaptive educational support mechanisms.

Hiruni has actively contributed to the research community through presentations and publications at international conferences, including the International Conference on Advancements in Computing (ICAC),DeWeSAS,and International Postgraduate Conference and Research Forum (IPCRF 2026).Her work reflects a commitment to applying emerging technologies to address real-world challenges in healthcare, education, and language technologies.

She is certified in AWS Cloud Quest and Microsoft Office 365 and is fluent in both English and Sinhala. Through her teaching, research, and professional engagements, Hiruni remains dedicated to advancing knowledge, fostering innovation, and empowering the next generation of IT professionals.

 

Naduni Alwis

Naduni Alwis is an aspiring lecturer and technical consultant specializing in cybersecurity, encryption, networking, and IT solutions. She holds a Bachelor of Information Technology (Honors) in Information Systems Security from ESOFT Metro Campus, Colombo, and possesses certifications in Kaspersky, Barracuda, Commvault, ManageEngine, and SOTI.  With a strong background in cybersecurity, digital forensics, cloud security, and advanced networking, Naduni has worked as a Technical Consultant at Igniter Space (Pvt) Ltd and a Trainee Technical Support Engineer at Safe Project (Pvt) Ltd. She has hands-on experience in encryption using Python and C++, IoT, artificial intelligence, and database systems. As an educator, Naduni is passionate about facilitating hands-on learning in Arduino, robotics, Scratch, and Micro:bit. She has been actively involved in developing curriculums, guiding projects, and staying up to date with advancements in educational technology.
