Hiruni Rathnayake is an academic and research professional specializing in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Information Technology education. She holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science from the University of Kelaniya and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Information Technology from the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT).
With experience as a Lecturer at CICRA Campus, a Temporary Demonstrator at the University of Kelaniya, and an Academic Instructor at SLIIT, she has developed strong expertise in teaching, student mentoring, curriculum delivery, and academic assessment. Her technical competencies include Python, Java, C#, C++, web development, database management, software engineering, and software quality assurance.
Her primary research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis, Adaptive Learning Systems, and Educational Technologies.Her MSc research, titled "Integrating Deep Learning-Based Early Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder with Novel Adaptive Learning Strategies,” focuses on leveraging AI technologies to support early ASD detection and personalized learning interventions.

She is certified in AWS Cloud Quest and Microsoft Office 365 and is fluent in both English and Sinhala. Through her teaching, research, and professional engagements, Hiruni remains dedicated to advancing knowledge, fostering innovation, and empowering the next generation of IT professionals.
